Five Years Alone
She was a survivor, but survival came at a heartbreaking cost. Litter after litter of her puppies were taken from her and sold, yet no one ever cared enough to save Hippo, to see her as more than just another stray. Covered in ticks, struggling through brutal 114-degree summers, Hippo’s days were numbered. It was only a matter of time before something would happen that she wouldn’t be able to walk away from.
A Gentle Soul Rescued
We rescued Hippo from the junkyard and brought her to safety. Despite everything she had endured, Hippo was the sweetest, most gentle soul, full of love, gratitude, and quiet resilience.
A Family Worth the Drive
A family in Oregon fell in love with Hippo from afar.
Without hesitation, they drove thousands of miles up the coast to meet her. That was the day Hippo’s life changed forever.
