Harley's Story

From the moment Harley came into our lives, we knew she was something extraordinary.

At just 8 months old, she had already endured more than most dogs ever will—born with only two back legs, one front leg completely absent, and the other just a partial limb. Her spine curved in ways that made mobility a daily challenge, but Harley never let that stop her.

She radiated determination, joy, and pure love

A Life Almost Cut Short

She was surrendered to the county shelter and scheduled to be euthanized that very night. But we couldn’t let her story end there. We rushed to her side, knowing this special girl deserved a chance, and what a story she would go on to write.

A Fighter, A Trailblazer

Harley was fitted for a custom wheelchair and began the process of getting a prosthetic limb, working closely with specialists who marveled at her resilience. She embraced every challenge with tail wags and an unshakable spirit. While Harley was still undergoing medical care, something amazing happened.

Love from a Distance

A couple in Indiana saw her listed online. They weren’t ready to adopt yet, but they couldn’t stop thinking about her. They reached out, and over the next few months, we shared every update, every milestone. A bond formed long before they ever met. When Harley was finally cleared to go home, there was just one catch: her new family was across the country.

A First-Class Sendoff

That’s when NHRA drivers Leah Pruett and Tony Stewart stepped in with an offer we’ll never forget—they flew us to Indiana on their private plane, giving Harley the first-class sendoff she deserved.

She was an absolute angel on the flight, and when we landed and met her new mom and dad, it was like watching a puzzle click into place. Instant connection. Total understanding. Pure love.

Home, Loved, and Free

Today, Harley lives a full and happy life in Indiana with her incredible parents and her furry siblings—blind brother Preacher and wise older sister Mildred.

She zips around in her custom cart, cuddles up with her family, and continues to inspire everyone she meets. Harley doesn’t see herself as different. She just sees herself as Harley.

And now, thanks to the kindness of so many, she gets to be exactly who she was always meant to be—home, loved, and free.
