Meet Caitlin
From Phoenix Roots to Rescue Work
Growing up in the Phoenix area, Caitlin Beall witnessed firsthand the severity of Arizona’s overpopulation crisis—one of the worst in the country. It wasn’t surprising when she came across a puppy dying under a dumpster in an alley in South Phoenix. What was surprising was how that moment would change everything.
The Puppy That Started It All
The critically ill puppy, who would later be named Gigi Christine, needed urgent care. After a few scary hours and one life-saving blood transfusion, she pulled through. Caitlin credits Gigi with opening her eyes—and her heart—to the animals suffering on the streets. That day sparked a fire in her that’s never gone out.
Building a Mission from the Ground Up
As Caitlin gained experience volunteering with other rescue organizations, she grew increasingly frustrated by the lack of "boots on the ground" rescuers. In 2018, fate brought her together with Elli Smith, who shared her passion for helping at-risk animals. The two joined forces to build Sky Sanctuary Rescue—a grassroots mission that has since saved and rehabilitated close to a thousand animals from the streets of Maricopa County.

Teaching Compassion in and out of the Classroom
At the time, Caitlin was also working as a first grade teacher. She began sharing her rescue experiences with her students, hoping to instill compassion for all creatures. Her reach soon expanded beyond the classroom as she began documenting rescue stories on social media, inspiring thousands to care, support, and take action.
A Life Dedicated to Second Chances
Today, Caitlin is the proud mom to five rescue dogs, two of whom require extensive medical care due to age and health issues. As the Director of Sky Sanctuary Rescue, she continues to lead with heart, dedication, and the unwavering belief that every animal deserves a second chance at a life of health and happiness.
